Oilers fall to Mira
Costa in 3, 25-21, 25-19 and 25-19.
In what would turn out to be their last match as members
of the Oiler team, Huntington's seniors stepped up in the match. Nick Siegle had 18 kills while Tyler Kulakowski added 9 and
Nick Iorfino 7. Libero Eric Bartlett had 14 digs,
but it was not enough to overcome number 1 rated Mira
Costa.
Huntington sweeps Dana
Hills to advance to the quarter finals of
CIF. Game scores were 25-19, 25-16, 25-23.
Nick Siegle paced the Oilers with 16 kills. Middle
Blocker Tyler Kulakowski added 9 kills and 4 blocks,
while outside hitters Nick Iorfino and Kyle Bailey
combined for 14 kills. Huntington moves on to play
first seeded Mira Costa on Saturday.
Oilers open CIF
playoffs with a sweep of Irvine by scores of
25-15, 25-11 and 25-17. Every player on Huntington
got into the match. The Oiler outside attack of
Nick Siegle, Nick Iorfino and Kyle Bailey combined for
28 kills. Huntington Middle Blockers Andrew Tenbrink and
Tyler Kulakowski had 4 kills apiece, with Kulakowski
adding 6 blocks. Libero Eric Bartlett added 13
digs for the Oilers. Huntington will play Dana
Hills on Thursday night, with the match location to be
determined by a coin-flip by CIF on Wednesday.
Huntington sweeps
Woodbridge on Senior night to finish
undefeated in Sea View League play with a record of
10-0. The match scores were 25-19, 25-22 and 25-8.
Nick Iorfino led the Oilers with 11 kills and Tyler
Kulakowski added 10 and 3 blocks. Eric Bartlett
got the start at outside hitter and chipped in 6 kills.
The Oilers will learn their CIF seeding on Sunday and
will play at home on Tuesday night.

Oilers win Sea View
League title with a sweep of El Toro 25-10,
25-19 and 25-19. Coach Pazanti played a number of
different lineups and every Oiler had at least one kill.
Nick Iorfino led the way with 13 kills.
Huntington prevails
over Laguna Beach in 4, 25-16, 26-24, 16-25
and 25-22 in non-league play. Opposite Hitter Nick
Siegle paced the Oilers with 13 kills. Middle
Blocker Tyler Kulakowski and Outside Hitter Nick Iorfino
each added 10 kills in the win. Libero Eric
Bartlett had 21 digs and 4 aces for Huntington who move
to 21-4 on the season.

Tournaments
Oilers
win OC Championship
with a 3 game victory over Corona del Mar
(18-25, 25-17 15-12). Freshman libero Matt Butler
was named to the all-tournament team and Senior outside
hitter Nick Iorfino was named tournament MVP.
On Friday, the Oilers started with
first-round wins over Tesoro (25-17, 25-21) and #5
Corona del Mar (25-23, 21-25 and 15-9). Huntington
then defeated Mater Dei (25-21, 23-25, 15-9) on Saturday
morning to finish as the only team unbeaten in pool
play. Saturday afternoon, Huntington defeated Dana
Hills (25-20, 26-24) and Mission Viejo (25-22, 25-18) to
advance to the final at 7:00 pm on Monday night at
Edison High School.
Oilers
finish second in
Redondo Tournament,
losing in the finals to CIF #3 ranked Esperanza.
