1st Place -- 2010 OC Championship

Oilers win OC Championship with a 3 game victory over Corona del Mar (18-25, 25-17 15-12).  Freshman libero Matt Butler was named to the all-tournament team and Senior outside hitter Nick Iorfino was named tournament MVP.

On Friday, the Oilers started with first-round wins over Tesoro (25-17, 25-21) and #5 Corona del Mar (25-23, 21-25 and 15-9).  Huntington then defeated Mater Dei (25-21, 23-25, 15-9) on Saturday morning to finish as the only team unbeaten in pool play.  Saturday afternoon, Huntington defeated Dana Hills (25-20, 26-24) and Mission Viejo (25-22, 25-18) to advance to the final.

2nd Place -- Redondo Tournament

Oilers finish second in Redondo Tournament, losing in the finals to CIF #3 ranked Esperanza by scores of 25-23 and 27-25.  The Oilers advanced to the finals with a win over CIF #4 ranked St. John Bosco 21-25, 25-19 and 15-10. 

Huntington Beach played a solid tournament, with early round wins over Downey, West Torrance and Mayfair on Friday.  On Saturday, the Oilers defeated Peninsula High 25-19 and 25-13. That victory put Huntington in the quarter finals against Santa Monica High School.  The Oilers prevailed by scores of 25-14 and 25-20.

 

Oilers earn all tournament honors.  Congratulations to Senior Middle Blocker Tyler Kulakowski and Senior Outside Hitter Nick Iorfino who were named to the all tournament team at the Redondo Tournament.
