Coaching Staff

Varsity 

Head Coach Craig Pazanti -- Currently serving as head coach for both the boys and girls  teams, Coach Pazanti is a HBHS Alumni and teaches science at his alma mater.  Coach Pazanti was named OC Register Volleyball Coach of the Year in 1999 , CIF Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2001 and California State Volleyball Coach of the Year 2003.  While at Mater Dei High School, Coach Pazanti guided the girls team to 3 consecutive  CIF Championships in  2001, 2002 and 2003.

Assistant Coach Evan Hook -- Coach Hook is an Oiler Alumni and was all Sunset League and All CIF at Huntington High in 1996.  After high school, he went on to play volleyball at Golden West College and Long Beach State, where he played Libero for the 49rs through 2001..

Assistant Coach Tyler Hagstrom -- Coach Hagstrom played Libero for Cal Baptist University in Riverside.  He served as an Assistant Varsity Coach at Mater Dei before joining the staff at Huntington Beach.  He also coaches for the Surf City Volleyball Club's boys and girls teams.

Junior Varsity

Tina Bowman - Tina graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. Her high school volleyball team won CIF and State titles. She continued playing at Golden West College and the University of Florida were she was on conference and State winning teams.  Tina has led the HB JV team since 2000.

Frosh/Soph          

Dennis Masuda - Coach Masuda graduated from HBHS in 1997 where he  was an All-Sunset League and All CIF setter for the Oilers.  Dennis has been the coach of the Frosh/Soph program since 2000.
